Citiwell specialist carefully covers a client before laser hair removal
01
Before treatment

First, your specialist checks everything and explains the process

Before the first pulse, it is important to understand your skin and hair in the selected area.

  • A short conversation. Your specialist asks about recent tanning, medication, skin sensitivity and previous experience.
  • Area assessment. They assess hair colour and density and note moles, tattoos and sensitive areas.
  • Individual settings. Settings are tailored to your skin, hair and the specific area.

How the laser acts on hair

Light energy follows the hair pigment to the active follicle while the skin surface is cooled.

Three stages of laser action on pigmented hair
01

Light finds the pigment

Dark pigment helps guide the energy towards the active root.

02

Energy becomes heat

Controlled heat is created around the follicle.

03

The hair gradually sheds

Visible shedding often begins within 2–3 weeks, depending on the area.

02
During treatment

A calm process, step by step

  1. 1

The skin is cleaned and contact gel is applied when needed.

  2. 2

You and your specialist put on protective glasses.

  3. 3

The handpiece moves smoothly over the area, pulse by pulse.

  4. 4

Your specialist monitors contact, cooling and your skin’s response.

What you may feel

The sensation depends on the area, but treatment is usually easy to tolerate.

  • Coolness
  • Brief warmth
  • Mild tingling

Tell your specialist if the sensation becomes too strong. There is no need to stay silent or endure it.

03
Immediately afterwards

The skin settles while results arrive gradually

Your specialist checks the area and explains what happens next. Mild warmth or temporary redness around the hairs can be a normal short-lived response.

  • Visible shedding often begins within 2–3 weeks, depending on the area.
  • Do not judge the final result on the first day.
  • Detailed aftercare remains available on a separate page.
