What to know about this area
The laser reacts to the pigment in the hair, so it works best on dark hair. Light, fine facial hair responds poorly, and if the treatment would not help, the specialist will say so.
If facial hair has started to grow quickly together with changes in your cycle, acne or weight, see a doctor first. A Citiwell specialist does not diagnose, but will tell you when it is best to start a course.
How a course works
The laser works on hairs in the active growth phase, so the result builds up over several treatments.
Consultation and check
A specialist looks at your skin and hair, asks about tanning, medication and contraindications, and tells you honestly what result to expect.
Preparation
No hair removal from the root for 3–4 weeks before, no intensive tanning, sunbeds or self-tanner for 5–7 days before, and shave the area 12–24 hours before.
Treatments as a course
First changes are often visible after 1–2 treatments. Treatments are usually about 4–6 weeks apart; the specialist sets the exact schedule.
Aftercare
Protect your skin from the sun and for the first few days avoid overheating, scrubs and harsh cosmetics on the area.

Frequently asked questions
How much does facial laser hair removal cost?
The full face is €35 per treatment, €28 on your first visit. A single area — upper lip, chin, cheeks, sideburns, forehead, eyebrows or neck — is €15, €12 on your first visit.
Does the laser work on light, fine facial hair?
Usually not: light and very fine hair has little pigment, so the laser hardly affects it. Fine facial hair can also, rarely, react the opposite way and grow more. That is why the specialist assesses your hair first and tells you honestly whether the treatment makes sense.
How should I care for my face after treatment?
For the first few days, protect your skin from the sun, do not apply heavy make-up or harsh products to the treated area and avoid overheating the skin. More in the aftercare guide.
